As an association that represents the interest of advancement in aviation, AVICON has grown stronger and more distinct in its vision how to proceed with our main purpose: aviation promotion. Hence the fourth edition of SKOPJE AIR FAIR 2024 was a materialization of our maturity and quality consistence.
At the Shkolka location in the Skopje City Park, SKOPJE AIR FAIR was held on October 26th 2024, starting from 11 am and ending at 4 pm. This year’s edition was a true festival for aviation lovers.
One of the highlights of this year’s SKOPJE AIR FAIR was the presence of EUROCONTROL and IFATCA (International Federation of air Traffic Controllers’ Associations) through available materials since the Macedonian Air Traffic Controllers’ Association was hosting the IFATCA European Regional Meeting ERM SKOPJE 2024, just one week before the Skopje Air Fair. MATCA together with M-NAV a.d. Skopje brought these materials for promoting the air traffic controller profession which provoked high interest among the visitors.
Our genuine supporter, the Civil Aviation Authority was in the spotlight with their upcoming law for the drones, so lots of drone pilots were visiting their stand.
Speaking of drones, the Drone Buzz Training Centre, first certified center for remote piloting had a stand that brought a high interest.
Wizz Air, presented by their crew members stationed in Skopje, were more than helpful to satisfy the knowledge eagerness of the young future pilots while tireless answering every single question.
The young future pilots could also visit the sports aerodromes schools stands like Rimin Air from Shtip and Aeroklub Skopje from Stenkovec which traditionally cover the parachute program as well.
When it comes to other ground personnel aviation professions we have TAV by our side which are a global brand in airports operations, and they operate the two Macedonian international airoirts. TAV, as in previous SAF editions, set a booth to present their aviation ground staff professions and they also use the SKOPJE AIR FAIR as a recruitments site since they pass out a lot of applications for future hires.
For the very first time, on this edition of Skopje Air Fair, we had a representative from Albanian helicopter service Vista Air.
The aircraft modeling Narodna Tehnika along with the and scale modeling club “Major Mihajlo Ivanovski – Mix”. The Aviation Meteorological Association of Macedonia was there together with ATM Engineers from M-NAV as well as the aircraft engineers from Global Maintenance – Branch Skopje who were also there for recruitment and sharing. Traditionally a stand was reserved for Ad Verbum, the certified TEA test Aviation English language testing center. This year we had high school students from NOVA International School Skopje.
AVICON started its vision 4 years ago. The fruits from our mission seeds have started to grow, so we already have success stories that we shared during our promo period. We would like to thank Hristijan Kotevski who shared his testimony on how he learned about the Wizz Air pilot program during a previous edition of SKOPJE AIR FAIR and after got recruited and soon to become licensed pilot.
During the promo we had TV presentations on several national televisions, as well as support from internet portals.
